Our Story

Behind Dignity Kids

In December 2023, Cassidy was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia at just 11 years old. It was a life-altering moment—one no parent or child is ever prepared for. Almost immediately, she began an aggressive chemotherapy regimen. Complications quickly followed, including a serious infection that resulted in a colostomy. At a time when she should’ve been thinking about middle school and friends, Cassidy was managing an ostomy, chemo, and extended hospital stays.

Preteen years are hard enough. Add cancer and an ostomy, and it’s a completely different level of emotional and physical challenge. Cassidy, like so many kids, just wanted to feel normal again.

I began searching everywhere for clothing, wraps, and covers to help Cassidy feel more comfortable and confident but I quickly found that options for pediatric patients were extremely limited, especially for older kids and teens. It was frustrating and heartbreaking.

That’s why we created Dignity Kids—to give children like Cassidy access to age-appropriate, functional, and stylish clothing that helps them feel like themselves again. Every product we design is rooted in one mission: to give kids dignity, confidence, and a sense of normal in the midst of medical chaos.

We believe everything happens for a reason, even when it’s hard to see. Maybe Dignity Kids is one of those reasons—turning a tough journey into something that helps others feel seen, supported, and strong.
